Osram Opto has partnered with Avnet, Radiant Zemax has acquired Optima Research, Mouser has redesigned its lighting design website, Lumenpulse has partnered with Technolite and Digi-Key has become Marktech Optoelectronics’ distributor.
Osram Opto names Avnet preferred global partner
Osram Opto Semiconductors has appointed electronics distributor Avnet Electronics Marketing as Osram’s preferred global partner. Avnet’s team of illumination-focused LED and lighting engineers, so-called illumineers, assist customers in applications using LEDs in the lighting, signage, security, medical, industrial and transportation industries.
Avnet’s regional LED and lighting design centers are equipped with industry-standard integrating spheres, spectroradiometers, goniophotometers, thermal imagers and other necessary equipment for performing photometric, UV/IR radiometric and thermal measurements on LEDs, lamps and luminaires.
Radiant Zemax acquire Optima Research
Radiant Zemax LLC, a provider of test, measurement and design tools based in Redmond, WA, has announced it has acquired UK-based Optima Research. “This acquisition will accelerate client collaboration and product offerings throughout the EU,” stated Paul Caragher, CEO of Radiant Zemax. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Optima Research will continue to act as Europe’s local office for sales and support of Zemax’s optical and illumination design software, and provide training in computer-based optical design methods.
Radiant Zemax was formed in 2011 when Radiant Development Corporation merged with Radiant Imaging. Radiant Zemax’s products include software, imaging colorimeters, photometers and goniometers.
Mouser introduces website for lighting product design
The global electronics distributor Mouser Electronics, Inc. has launched a new Product Knowledge Center (PKC) training site at www.mouser.com/lighting, which includes LED and lighting products, applications and design engineering resources.
The redesigned site is structured to help design engineers find the latest lighting advancements, trends and supporting product information in as few clicks as possible. The resource center includes a lighting products selector guide that allows engineers to focus on a set of products based on defined parameters and engineering standards.
The website’s resource guide includes videos, selection guides, white papers and application notes to help fast track the overall design process.
Lumenpulse partners with Technolite
Lumenpulse has entered into a strategic partnership agreement with Singapore-based Technolite. Technolite will exclusively supply Lumenpulse’s range of LED lighting products in Singapore, with management out of its London, UK office.
“Technolite is very active in the high-end architectural lighting market in Singapore,” said Gorm Teichert, executive vice president of international sales for Lumenpulse, “The company’s outstanding reputation and experience in providing quality lighting solutions, combined with great technical ability and understanding of LED systems, makes Technolite a perfect match for Lumenpulse.”
Digi-Key and Marktech Optoelectronics sign distribution agreement
Electronic components distributor Digi-Key Corporation and Marktech Optoelectronics, a provider of LEDs based in Latham, NY, have announced the companies have signed a global distribution agreement. Marktech products are available for purchase now on Digi-Key’s global websites.
“Digi-Key’s unparalleled level of service along with Marktech’s twenty-six years of providing optoelectronic solutions will allow engineers to quickly achieve their design goals,” stated William Moore, executive vice president of Marktech Optoelectronics.
